Northampton Winter Open Meet
The last open meet of 2011 for Staines swimmers was at Corby 50m pool hosted by Northampton SC and brought a new
National Qualifier and lots of top swims.
The competition was a fantastic experience for the swimmers as Loughborough had entered all their top swimmers so our aspiring young athletes were able to watch and get autographs from the likes of Olympic Swimmers Liam Tancock and Jo Jackson.
Amber Cousens qualified for 2012 national championships on 100m Backstroke in a time of 1.07.39 in almost the last swim of the weekend. This is Ambers first national qualifying time at the age of 17 at Nationals next summer.
Well done to all those who came back having performed well and achieved personal best times.
