Affiliation
Staines Swimming Club is affiliated to both the ASA and the ASA South
East Region, there are separate membership fees for individual club members
for both of these affiliations. The club can choose to pay affiliation
membership fees for members or make each individual member pay. All
affiliation fees for members included in the annual return must be paid
by 31st March each year.
Membership Annual Return
The club has to send an annual return of all it’s members to the ASA before
the 31st March. The various categories of membership are defined as:

- Category One shall include all members of any age who are learning
to swim or who are swimmers at any level of ability, who do not compete
in any discipline in open competitions, except open competitions restricted
to our own members and low level competition as defined by the ASA Committee.
- Category Two shall include all members of any age who compete in
any discipline in open competitions other than open competitions restricted
to our own members and low level competition as defined by the ASA Committee.
- Category Three shall include all members of any age who are not
in Categories One or Two including, but not being limited to, any persons
who have voting rights in their club by virtue of being a parent of
or a person with parental responsibility for a member in Categories
One or Two; administrators; associate members; coaches; helpers; honorary
members; life members; officers; presidents; qualified officials of
any discipline; patrons; teachers; temporary members; vice presidents
and verifiers or tutors of the Association’s educational certificates.
Other Points to Note
- ASA membership is for the fiscal year from April to March.
- Persons joining the club on or before 31st October will have to
pay the full ASA membership fee for the appropriate category.
- Any persons joining the club after 31st October doesn’t not have
to pay the annual fee for that fiscal year but must fill in a registration
form for submission to the ASA.
- If a member falls into more than one category, they will pay the
highest amount for which they are liable and be registered against that
category.
- Casual helpers who are not registered are covered by third party
insurance only.
