Fees and MembershipThe membership fee and pool time fees are combined and divided into 12 monthly payments which should be made by standing order. All members must pay an A.S.A. registration to the club who, in turn, pass it on to the A.S.A. Members are expected to meet all open, championship and other competition fees. The club contributes to national standard event entries and accommodation. Costume and EquipmentClub colours are black, red and white with the Staines logo of a swan. Hats, track suits, t-bags, polo shirts, sweat shirts and T-shirts are available to buy from the club shop. Costumes, bags and accessories are also carried. Swimmers should have fins, zoomers, kick board, pull buoy, bands and paddles according to which group they train with and these are available as new or second hand. The shop is open on certain club nights and usually advertised on the notice board. FixturesAnnual club championships, B/C grade galas, novice events, graded county meets, county age groups and championships, designated open meets, south east regional, national age groups and national championships; there are fixtures on our list to accommodate every level of swimmer within our club, as long as they meet A.S.A. regulations. The fixtures secretary and open meet secretary work closely with the chief coach to plan a full and worthwhile fixtures list. Throughout the year every swimmer is given the opportunity to swim in the many time trials held, these are an ideal opportunity for the swimmer to practice their starts and turns and to record a time in various events held. Training camps both international and domestic are another successful addition to the fixtures list. CommunicationWavelength is a quarterly publication which is published to maintain communication lines within the club. Anyone is able to contribute to the magazine and advertisers are also encouraged. The notice board is also a focal point for communication - it is situated in the foyer of Spelthorne Leisure Centre (temporarily removed for refurbishment works). A list of committee members is displayed on the board as well as the fixtures list, results, newspaper reports, open meet forms and other relevant notices. SocialAn appointed social secretary organises sponsored events, summer B-B-Q’s, discos, Race Nights and outings. Details on the notice board. Fund raising is also important in this area - new ideas and volunteers are always welcome!
