New Junior Coach

Dear Swimmers/Parents,

From 1st June I am very pleased to be introducing another full time member of staff into our coaching team. Anastasia (Natasha) will be working closely with junior swimmers from across the club and assisting in the continued improvement of the club systems and procedures. Natasha brings a wealth of on and off poolside experience to the newly created ‘junior coach and administrator’ role and will add another positive dimension to the team. I am sure you will join me in providing her a warm welcome as she settles into the club. Natasha has provided a short message:

“Hello, my name is Natasha and I will be the new Junior Coach here at Staines Swimming Club. As a former competitive swimmer I wanted to be involved in the world of swimming as I felt that I had a lot to offer as a coach. I completed my undergraduate course in Sports Science and specialised in Competitive Swimming. In order to enhance my role as a coach I decided to extend my studies and complete an MSc in Psychology. Within 5 years of experience coaching and teaching at all levels I have had the opportunity to guide children to perform to the best of their abilities. My philosophy is simple - do better than your best - and I aim to motivate children to reach their full potential no matter their age or ability. I found that Staines Swimming club has the same philosophy, providing opportunities for all children of any level in a structured environment. As a professional coach I aim to work under the same principles and values and I am looking forward to bringing the best possible results for Staines Swimming Club.”

Learn 2 Swim Leaflet

We are looking for your help!

Please can you support your club by handing out this leaflet to friends, families, schools, etc?

We have three venues now where we offer Learn 2 Swim programmes. We need help spreading the news and encouraging children to learn to swim.

Thank you in advance.

Bishopsgate School Pool

The fantatsic new swimming pool at Bishopsgate school is now open and being used by different groups across the club. We have also launched a weekend learn to swim programme which is proving to be very popular already.

For further information or to book visit our join us page.

Main Pool New Swimmer Assessment

We regularly hold assessments for swimmers wishing to join the club. Assessments are held on a regular basis at Spelthorne Leisure Centre. Please email maintrials@stainesswimming.org or phone 07757 896565 with the swimmer’s name, date of birth and two telephone numbers. Evenings are not the best time to call, as coaches are busy at training sessions.

Teaching Scheme

We currently have a small number of spaces in our 2-day teaching scheme ideally suited for children between the ages of 4 and 8. For more information please go to the 'More Information' page of the SSC 'Learn-to-Swim' website. To arrange an assessment, please call Kai on 07914 491442.

SSC Club Kit

The club shop is currently changing, there will be more news soon, please bear with us in the mean time.

Keep Fit or Competitive Swimming for Adults

Staines Swimming Club Masters section is for adults who want to swim to keep fit or to compete.  As long as you are over 18, age doesn't matter, as long as you can swim a few lengths, technique doesn't matter, you don't even have to swim all 4 strokes.  It's a great way to keep fit and a great way to make new friends.
