Notice board

Assistant Head Coach, Robert Crofts, completes his ASA Level 3 qualification

Congratulations to Rob who has passed his level 3 coaching qualification with flying colours. Staines SC is continually increasing the number of coaches qualified to the highest level and Rob is another excellent addition to that group. Well done Rob!

Swim teachers

Are you a swim teacher or are you interested in becoming one? In that case please contact Lawrence Northover or Robert Crofts.

Sponsor Amy Williams

For the 3rd consecutive year, Amy has been selected to represent the borough, this year in the U17 team, running the Virgin London Mini Marathon on April 13th. Each year she raises money for charity and this year she has decided to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of her Uncle who sadly passed to this condition. Every donation be it small or large is greatly appreciated to raise funds and awareness for this worthwhile cause.

Learn 2 Swim Leaflet

We are looking for your help!

Please can you support your club by handing out this leaflet to friends, families, schools, etc?

We have three venues now where we offer Learn 2 Swim programmes. We need help spreading the news and encouraging children to learn to swim.

Thank you in advance.

ASA Renewal Fees

Dear All Club Members,

The time is once again upon us to renew ALL ASA Memberships within the Club. This is applicable to each and every member in the Club, whether you are swimmers in the Learn to Swim schemes, Main Pool Swimmers through to Masters and Students.

Please can you read the information document and complete the Personal Details Form returning it together with your payment no later than 28th February 2014. It is important that we receive back both the fully completed, signed form and the payment by this date as the Club has a deadline, which is non negotiable and must be met, for the Renewal Submissions with the ASA. All Memberships must be submitted as 1 batch to the ASA, therefore it is essential that we receive the renewals from yourselves on time.

These can either be given directly to your Coach or directly to myself, I can be found via Elite 2 Squad.

ALL swimmers must be ASA registered to cover them for insurance purposes and to enable them to continue to swim. Those swimmers whose memberships are not renewed by 28th February will not be permitted to continue to swim.

If you are unsure of your ASA Registration Number, these can be found via the Club Website.

If you have any queries please let me know.

Many thanks for your co-operation and prompt attention to this.

Kind regards

Bishopsgate School Pool

New Assistant Head Coach

Dear Swimmers / Parents,

We are very please to be able to introduce Robert Crofts to the swimming club. Some swimmers will have met him already when he coached a couple of sessions at the club in November.

Robert has been working within swimming for a number of years as a Teacher, Coach and Head Coach at clubs near his home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Currently an ASA level 2 swimming coach Robert has been working through and almost completed his level 3 coaching qualification with one more unit left to finish. In 2013 Robert achieved a 2.1 BSc(hons) degree in Sports Studies with high relevance to the position he will be taking up at Staines SC.

Robert will be getting involved with the club over the next few weeks and then will be starting his full time role in early January.

We look forward to welcoming Robert to the team at Staines Swimming Club and are sure he will be an integral part of the clubs future development.

Main Pool New Swimmer Assessment

We regularly hold assessments for swimmers wishing to join the club. Assessments are held on a regular basis at Spelthorne Leisure Centre. Please email or phone 07757 896565 with the swimmer’s name, date of birth and two telephone numbers. Evenings are not the best time to call, as coaches are busy at training sessions.
